Description
Hi there, Thanks for stopping by to learn a little about me. My name is Niamh, an integrative therapist based in Austin, Texas. I am passionate about helping people navigate their world in a culture that can often feel overwhelming. I specialize in integrating somatic psychotherapy and music therapy in my work with children, adolescents, parents and adults, to help support them through life's most complex challenges.
I believe deeply in the power of human connection and the impact relationships have on us. Our experiences, past and present, impact how we move through the world, the relationships we have, how we meet our needs and how we see ourselves and others.
Sometimes, words alone can only take us so far in our healing journey because our bodies often hold on to experiences in ways our minds don’t always recognize. Healing happens when we bring awareness to these imprinted body memories. Through the use of creativity and somatic practices, we can connect with the parts of ourselves that are hurting and engage with our thoughts, emotions and body as a collective whole.
My style is warm, empathetic and curious and I see therapy as a creative, collaborative and holistic process. My primary focus is on centering your needs and what matters most to you.I prioritize your story and what you would like to achieve in our work together while going at a pace that works for you. It takes a lot of courage to reach our for help and in our work together, I show up authentically with compassion and a commitment to provide a safe and supportive space for you.
In general I tend to work well with folx who:
are navigating life transitions or big changes
have experienced trauma or difficult life events and are looking for a safe space to process and heal from emotional wounds.
are deeply feeling and may have been told they are "too sensitive"
are ready to cultivate self-love and trust.
I am available to work via tele-health in all states except IL, NY, GA, MD, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, RI, UT, VA, WI and WN.
