The Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method℠ Level 2
TCYM Level 2 is a 30-hour certification training that offers a deeper dive into the topics and skills offered in TCYM Level 1, and an exploration into several new content areas. One of the greatest benefits of attending this training is that Level 2 offers an in-depth investigation of intergenerational trauma. You will receive a more expansive education on generational trauma and the research, and your trainer will provide you with somatic practices to heal intergenerational trauma in the body using the Internal Family Systems process of Legacy Unburdening + yoga. You will explore these practices for yourself first and then have the resources to offer them to your clients and communities.
In Level 2 there is also a greater integration of Buddhist Psychology and emphasis on the pillars of awakening and liberation through embodied work. Our founder’s book, Embodied Self Awakening: Somatic Practices for Trauma Healing and Spiritual Evolution is the companion manual to this course.
Please note that this training is open only to those who have completed TCYM Level (please see our FAQ’s below).
Course Prerequisites:
To attend TCYM Level 2, we ask that you:
Have completed and received certification in TCYM Level 1 (attendance in other trauma-informed yoga trainings is not a replacement for TCYM Level 1)
Are using TCYM in your current professional practice. If not, we ask that you attend at least two coaching calls/consultation groups prior to attending TCYM Level 2. Please email our Admin team for more info if you are not currently using TCYM in your practice but are interested in attending Level 2 (info@traumaconsciousyoga.com).
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I attended TCYM before it was called TCYM (prior to 2018 when the training was only 15 hours)?
If this is the case, we ask that you attend 2-4 coaching calls/consultation groups before coming to Level 2. Please email Admin at info@traumaconsciousyoga.com to learn more.
I attended a different trauma-informed yoga training. Can I sign up for TCYM Level 2?
No. TCYM is a specific modality that covers additional topics not generally covered in trauma-informed yoga trainings. Therefore we ask that you attend Level 1
I already attended another trauma-informed yoga training that was not TCYM. If I attend TCYM Level 1, won’t it be redundant?
We don’t believe so. We have had many trainees come to TCYM Level 1 who attended other trauma-informed yoga trainings and they report getting new information that they did not receive in their other training, especially being that TCYM takes a decolonization lens, integrates somatic therapy practices and offers instruction on how to offer this modality clinically.

Manifest Life: A Trauma-Informed Prenatal Yoga and Healing Series
Manifest Life is a trauma-informed prenatal yoga and healing series Nityda designed to inspire and empower pregnant people to heal, to be fully embodied along their pregnancy, birth and parenting journeys, and to be deeply connected to their beautiful humanness.
This series is like therapy plus yoga. In addition to the seven, full-length, trauma-informed prenatal yoga practices, you get a therapeutic workbook to complete, filled with rich, detailed, journal prompts, & reflective exercises that help us engage our minds, our bodies, and our souls as one. The yoga practices are here to help us liberate traumatic memory from our bodies. The workbook exercises invite us to explore our conditioning, fears and beliefs around pregnancy, birth and labor.
When we heal ourselves and prepare mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually for labor, birth and parenthood we resolve intergenerational trauma breaking a cycle of transgenerational suffering.
Visit this page to see a video message from Nityda.
Inspiration for this course:
Over the years working in reproductive health and trauma recovery, Nityda has witnessed that many pregnant people don’t recognize their power- not feeling they have a voice or recognizing that their voices matter in their own process. Quite the opposite, Nityda observed that many pregnant parents-to-be felt disempowered in their pregnancy, disconnected from and lacking trust in their bodies, in fear of the natural process of birth, silencing their desires, ignoring their intuition, and handing over their fate to others.
Birth can be an incredible experience, a spiritual and unifying experience, it can be an ecstatic experience, and an empowering experience, but it can be traumatic. Yet, there is work we can do beforehand to set intentions, to heal, to have the best birth outcomes for us. Birth can be healing.
Nityda created this series from her deep passion and belief that every pregnant person has a right to choose their own path, wanting pregnant people to know that they do have choice and self-authority, and that they are in charge of their bodies and their healing.
Manifest Life will launch this Spring, 2020. Please sign up for our newsletter to be invited to our pre-launch party and receive a discount on the course.

- Explore how the yogic texts can be used as guidelines for embodied activism.
- Explore how we can use our yoga practices, both on and off the mat, to be embodied agents for social change.
