About Candace Benn

Dr. Candace Benn is a wife and mother of two girls. She is a proud member of The Phi Gamma Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She is a graduate of Virginia State University and Licensed Resident Counselor with a focus on mindfulness-based interventions for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Benn believes that mindfulness can help individuals cultivate self-awareness, compassion, and resilience, leading to better mental health and wellbeing. Dr. Benn has over 18 years of experience in education and mental health advocacy working with a variety of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress management. She is an active member of several mental health service boards as well as presented on the topic of trauma informed care. Dr. Benn's therapeutic approach is client-centered, with an emphasis on helping individuals identify their strengths and build on them. Dr. Benn has a special interest in helping individuals develop mindfulness skills to support emotional regulation and self-compassion.
