Marissa’s approach: Marissa believes that the most important aspect of therapy is the therapeutic relationship and providing an environment that is free of judgments in order to foster a space for healing.
Marissa will approach each session with empathy and compassion and strive to help you feel powerful and capable. Society bombards us with messages about how to fit in. How to look the right way, act the right way, speak the right way. But ultimately, the world does not need you to be a carbon copy. The world needs you to be fully yourself! Marissa will work to create a safe space where you can together explore what living into your uniqueness could mean. Then, utilizing research-based methods, she will help you as you achieve your goals.
Marissa utilizes ACT, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. She believes that individuals and clinicians work together as an active team throughout the healing process.
When she is not at Cardinal Counseling, Marissa enjoys exploring Arkansas with her husband and son, curling up with her two cats and a cup of coffee, and experimenting with different creative art mediums.
