Join TCYI Faculty Member, Hannah Cohen, for the third event of our new CEU Series:
Politicized Somatic Therapy: How to Tune Into Your Body Without Tuning Out the World
Objectives:
- Learn about explicitly politicized approaches to somatic therapy, in contrast to “apolitical” approaches.
- Explore politicized somatic therapy as a meaningful approach to working with trauma, especially with clients pushed to the margins and targeted by oppressive and repressive forces.
- Learn specific somatic practices that can be used with clients, as well as practices clinicians and yoga teachers can use to care for their own bodies and minds inside and outside of client work.
This will be an interactive space and will include discussion, case conceptualization, and practical strategies. Participants will receive 1.5 CEU credits for mental health professionals and through Yoga Alliance.
This workshop is geared towards clinicians, but will also offer practical information for yoga teachers interacting with trauma and oppressive forces in their wellness work.
*Please note: Registration sales are final and no refunds will be offered.
