Rajya Karipineni, LCSW | Rajya Karipineni Counseling
Description
Rajya Karipineni (she/her)
I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has provided individual, group, and family therapy since 2013. My work has spanned life experiences and backgrounds, from complex trauma to the build-up of daily hassles. Most recently, I led a clinical team in one of Illinois’s first clinics for adults and young adults experiencing disruptions to their perceptions.
My own life experiences and identities have led me to center the impact of systemic injustices on our understanding of self and paths to change. My use of mindfulness from an early age led me to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training and several certifications in trauma-informed yoga and its integration into therapy settings. In addition, prior work in non-profit advocacy leveraging communities’ strengths and walking alongside others in their path to self-empowerment informs my counseling style.
I hold a Master of Arts in clinical social work from the University of Chicago Social Service Administration. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Culture Studies from Washington University in St. Louis.
