Sarah Joyner holds a Master of Social Work degree from Texas State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Sarah is certified in The Trauma Conscious Yoga Method. She has received training in EMDR Therapy, Trauma-Informed Clinical Practice, Non-Suicidal Self Injury, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Sarah's clinical practices centers around adolescent females with a specialty in athletes, anxiety, trauma, and non-suicidal self injury.

Sarah is an active member of professional associations, including the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports and the National Association of Social Workers. Beyond her professional endeavors, Sarah is a passionate advocate and social media content creator. She founded “The Social Social Worker,” hosting discussions and panels on various social justice issues. Sarah also serves as a board member for Contigo Wellness Foundation, focusing on decolonizing, destigmatizing, and creating equitable access to mental wellness services for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Additionally, Sarah was Miss Georgia United States in 2019 and has completed marathons and half-marathons.

With her extensive experience, empathetic approach, and dedication to social work, Sarah Joyner is committed to positively impacting and promoting the well-being of diverse and marginalized populations.

Outside of Sarah’s social justice work, she enjoys her time with her husband, James, family, and friends. Sarah is also a proud fur mom to Keva, a standard Goldendoodle, who is dually trained as a psychiatric service animal and therapy dog.
