Thomas Malone, LPC
Description
My role as a budding counselor is to join you on your journey toward self-actualization, and help you tap into your innate potential in this endeavor.
As a person-centered counselor, I provide a safe, genuine, and nonjudgmental space where we will initially build a therapeutic working relationship. As we continue to strengthen the therapeutic bond, we will work through any difficulties or challenges you may be experiencing and will explore any opportunities for growth that may arise. I am passionate about my work with children and adolescents and strive to be of service by supplying them with unconditional positive regard and individualized support. In my work with youth, I utilize child-centered play therapy skills and interventions. Through play, youth are able to play out and essentially communicate those issues they need help working through. With adolescents, I employ creative therapeutic techniques, housed within a nondirective framework, which simultaneously allows the teen to take the lead in the change process and myself to travel steadfastly with the teen during their journey. For adults, I employ talk therapy and provide the same warmth, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, which characterize my work with youth and adolescents.
