Dakia “Kia” Davis (she/her/hers) is a licensed social worker and therapist with over 15 years of experience in trauma recovery. She specializes in helping adult clients who are Black, LGBTQIA+, recovering from complex PTSD and/or survivors of violent crime through a queer-affirming and culturally responsive lens. Kia integrates mind-body approaches with cognitive therapies to support her clients.
Kia has completed the Health Ministry Certificate Program at Wesley Theological Seminary and certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP) courses. She is also trained in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method℠ and is on track to complete her Subtle® Yoga teacher training in 2023.
In 2020, Kia opened her private practice, Healing Journey Therapy & Consulting, PLLC, where she offers psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and consultation in trauma recovery. She is a licensed clinical social worker in DC, NC, and SC.
